Last week we told you that Kenya Moore was being evicted and sued by her current landlord, Conya Weems-Dillon, who is claiming that the former beauty queen-turned-reality star has failed to comply with the terms of her lease and has been coming up short on her $3,999/month rent. When talk of the accusations first began to circulate, Moore subtly addressed them by taking to her Twitter account, challenging fans to resist the urge to believe everything that they hear.
Since then, the 42-year-old reality star has taken further action. According to TMZ, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has filed a countersuit against her landlady, claiming that allegations made by Weems-Dillon are false and a horrible attempt to intimidate her into moving out. Kenya insists that she’s paid her rent in full for the months of May and June. She also claims that Weems-Dillon constantly invades her privacy by entering her home without notice.
According to lawsuit, this is all a ploy to drag her name through the mud and sell a story to media outlets and apparently, it’s working. Moore claims that friends have “shunned” her since this story leaked out to the public, so in addition to her wrongful eviction claims, she’s also suing for slander and emotional distress.
It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out.
