There’s wasn’t much that anyone could tell Ciara this past weekend as she graced the stage for LA Pride. The 27-year-old dance machine sashayed and gyrated across the stage in front of screaming fans while she performed her 2006 hit, “Promise.” We imagine that she was definitely feeling the love as fans snapped photos and stretched their arms out to her, hoping to shake hands with their favorite pop star. All seemed to be going well and then something strange happened. Among the sea of hands appeared a set of papers, which a woman was attempting to hand to the “Body Party” singer. CiCi actually reached down to grab the papers, glanced at them and tossed them back into the audience. Judging by her reaction, she wasn’t pleased by whatever she saw.
According to TMZ, CiCi was being served with court papers relating to a lawsuit recently filed against her by popular West Hollywood Club, Hit Factory. It appears that CiCi’s relationship with the club went awry after they allegedly booked her for a Pride week performance and she backed out last minute. The singer’s camp maintains that they informed Hit Factory owners well in advance that Ciara would not be able to perform, but they continued to promote the event anyway.
The Texas native doesn’t appear to have allowed the lawsuit to get her spirits down though. Following her performance, she took to her Twitter page to fondly reflect on the show.
