Paris’ uncles, Jackie, Tito and Marlon have released a statement regarding their niece’s alleged suicide attempt.
“Thank you for the outpouring of concern and support for Paris. She is safe and doing fine. We truly appreciate you respecting our family privacy at this time.”
The teen’s grandmother, Katherine Jackson has also released a statement.
“Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention.”
The family’s lawyer, Perry Sands, explained that 15-year-old Paris is still struggling with the death of her father.
“Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you.”
Paris Jackson, daughter of late musical icon Michael Jackson, was rushed to the hospital early this morning after what appears to be a failed suicide attempt, TMZ reports.
15-year-old Paris was carried out of her Calabasas home by paramedics at around 2 AM and rushed to a nearby hospital. Sources say that the attempt came after she “threw a fit” and ran into her room screaming the night before because she was prohibited from attending a June 6th Marilyn Manson concert. Although this time Paris reportedly tried to end her life by overdosing on pills, a source involved with emergency response efforts revealed that several cuts were discovered on one of her wrists.
An insider who is close to the Jackson family claims that this isn’t the first time the high school student has tried to end her life.
“[Paris] tried this [a possible suicide attempt] in the past” but “this was far more serious. It was not a cry for help.”
We hear she’s doing okay at this point. Her mother’s attorney has since released a statement to TMZ, confirming the incident and thanking everyone for their concern.
“We appreciate everyone’s thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family’s privacy,” Rowe’s attorney, Eric George, said.
Last night an emotional Paris used her Twitter page to vent, sorrowfully expressing regret over a conversation gone awry and quoting lyrics from a Beatle’s song titled, “Yesterday.”
We hope that Paris makes a speedy recovery and is able to get the help that she needs.
