Senator John McCain’s Son, Jack McCain, Weds His Airforce Sweetheart Renee Swift
It was a love-filled weekend for the McCain family, as 2008 presidential candidate, Senator John McCain celebrated the marriage of his 27-year-old son, John “Jack” McCain IV and his new daughter-in-law, Renee Swift-McCain, 29, People reports.
The lovebirds met in Guam, where Jack was stationed, serving as a Navy lieutenant and helicopter pilot. Renee, who is originally from California and was also stationed in Guam, is a captain in the USAF reserve.
The military officers exchanged vows during a lavish ceremony at San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral. The reception followed at the California Academy of Sciences, a family rep confirms. A few of the ceremony’s guests included Vince Vaughn and 2012 presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, which prompted tons of wedding crasher jokes on various social media sites. Both Senator McCain and his daughter Meghan took to Twitter to express their excitement about John’s nuptials.
The newlyweds plan on honeymooning in Africa. Following the getaway, Jack is scheduled for another deployment.
