When it comes to Beyoncé, as with most other celebs, feelings are mixed. Some love her. Some hate her. Others may fall somewhere in between. Regardless of where you fall on the Bey-mometer, most will probably agree that she’s very committed to her fans. Unfortunately, that uncompromising commitment may be damaging her health. Following the recent health scare that caused her to cancel a show earlier this week, the singer took the stage in Belgium last night against her doctor’s orders.
“I just have to say, I feel so good to be on this stage. I have the best fans in the world. Now, my doctors told me not to perform tonight, but there was no way in the world. I just have to say that you all have given me so much inspiration and I just want to thank you guys,” she told fans during the concert.
Fans, however, say that Bey should’ve taken the night off because it was very clear that she wasn’t in any condition to be performing. One fan went on to describe the concert as “disappointing.”
“We just came home from the Beyoncé concert in Antwerp, Belgium. Tonight was the second concert out of two after the first one was canceled yesterday. At first we were super excited that she was able to perform tonight and the crowd was hype in anticipation, but after the first few songs it was clear that she should have postponed this show as well. Beyonce wasn’t her usual self and started out very weakly. A couple of songs into the concert, Beyoncé herself started performing a little bit better and seemed to have more energy, but all in all the entire concert was a great disappointment,” one concert attendee told Necole Bitchie.
“We’re just two hard working women who paid a lot of money for tickets. On top of that we had to take time of from work to travel from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to Antwerp, so this whole trip cost us a lot, especially in these hard economic times. We appreciate that she works really hard and always strives for perfection but tonight was a very big let down for us and I think for her as well,” the fan continued.
The BeyHive has been urging the singer to get some rest, stressing that they’d rather deal with a few canceled shows than to lose their “queen.” Hopefully she takes their advice.
