Didn’t Drake Already Do That? Chris Brown To Feature Aaliyah On New Track, ‘They Don’t Know’
It looks like Chris Brown and Drake have similar tastes in more ways than one. The new bad boy of R&B announced during the 2013 Bet Awards press conference that he would be sampling rare Aaliyah vocals on a song titled “The Don’t Know,” which will be featured on his upcoming X album, Rumor Fix reports.
Brown is said to have already shot a music video for the song, which will act as a tribute to the fallen singer. The video was shot this past weekend in Compton, California, something that Brown says he did in an effort to “uplift the community.”
“I shot it in the hood. I went to 60th Street and Cedar Block. [I’m] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from. I’m from Virginia, but everybody comes from a broken home or being broke — I remember when I was,” the 24-year-old “Fine China” singer revealed.
A very brief video clip from the “They Don’t Know” shoot has been recovered by Complex Magazine, but considering that there’s a mob of guys behind Brown during this particular scene of the video, many are questioning his creative vision and what the video has to do with Aaliyah. But again, this is just one scene so maybe it will all make sense once the final video is released.
It’s also interesting to note that just last year Brown’s sworn enemy Drake released a song titled “Enough Said,” featuring Aaliyah as well.
