Will Smith

One half of the rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Will Smith and childhood friend Jeff Townes earned a Grammy and some major play. But like most people who come into money (especially at an early age), Will became frivolous with his earnings soon cost owed the IRS close to $3 million. Garnishing his income and taking many of his belongings, Will Smith was penniless and near bankruptcy.

Just when all hope seemed lost, a miracle occurred when NBC approached the young rapper to star in the sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. This second chance at success would prove to be amazing as Smith continued on to become one of the highest paid actors (typically rakes in $20 million a film). With almost 30 films currently in development, there is hope for those who made bad decisions early on, and learn from them.
