Celebs Whose Failures Taught Us To Dust Ourselves Off And Try Again
If you were a person who loved the 90’s then you knew about Brandy. The singer turned songstress blazed the charts with songs like “I Wanna Be Down,” “Baby” and “The Boy is Mine,” a collaboration with fellow R&B artist Monica. UPN’s Moesha ran for six seasons and had close to 130 episodes. Life was looking pretty good for Brandy as she also dabbled in film playing Cinderella in a TV movie alongside Whitney Houston, and Double Platinum with Diana Ross. She would make her film debut on the big screen in the horror movie sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Things unfortunately took a wrong turn for the songstress from 2001 to 2010 with her albums failing to crack the charts (does anyone remember her debut as a rap artist?). There was also her involvement in a fatal car accident. It was during this time that Brandy would step away from the spotlight to refocus and regroup.
In 2010, Brandy joined the celebrity cast of the ABC show Dancing With the Stars, placing fourth. Shortly after, she took on small parts on shows like 90210 and Drop Dead Diva that helped to place her back on the industry scene. Last year was truly the year of Norwood as Brandy landed the role of Chardonnay on BET’s The Game. She also took another chance on music releasing her sixth album Two Eleven that reached third on the U.S. Billboard 200. Norwood also starred in the Tyler Perry movie, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.
