Ever since it was reported back in March that Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart, aka Porsha Williams, and her husband, Kordell Stewart, would be going their separate ways during a split that was a shocker to everyone (especially Porsha), it has been reported by multiple websites and publications that the divorce, especially because of the abrupt manner that in which it happened, could all be a ploy by Williams to get to keep a slot as star on the reality show.
While there have been moments where after the news broke that Stewart was filing for divorce, Williams was out and about at events for RHOA putting on a happy face, that doesn’t mean she wasn’t going through a tumultuous time internally and that the implosion of her marriage wasn’t happening. In an interview with the folks over at the Rickey Smiley Morning Show for Dish Nation, she called all claims of a fake divorce hurtful and complete foolery:
“Every day I just hear the craziest things about this situation online. For me, that’s the worst thing you could possibly do is play with marriage. For me, the situation is so unfortunate. For people to say that it’s fake, that’s what hurts. It’s like, I’m over here really going through this and everybody’s making light of it. I wouldn’t do that to myself, I wouldn’t do that to my son…It doesn’t make any sense at all.”
A rep for the reality personality also backed her up by sending a statement to TMZ confirming that the divorce proceedings are VERY real, and that though Williams is still hoping things can work out between herself and Kordell Stewart, it doesn’t seem possible:
“Given everything this abrupt divorce filing has put her through in the public, [Porsha] would never bring something like this on herself, especially with them having a child in the house.”
“[Porsha] wishes things could have been different [with Kordell] but that simply is not possible.”
