Pass Or Play? Tamar Braxton Samples Biggie With New Summer Jam “The One”

- By

If you’ve already played out “Love and War” on your iPod, you’ll be happy to know that Tamar Braxton has dropped her new single, “The One,” just in time for summer, and it’s definitely hot!

The Braxton sister samples the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy,” (aka Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit”) and croons about only needing one man in her life–Vince?

“You know very well, who you are/You’re the only one, you’ve got my heart.”

The singer talked about the summer banger with Rap-Up TV, which was produced by Yung Berg and LaShawn Daniels, and discussed the video, which she did while preggers in Cali: “It has so much energy, it’s so fun, it’s a summertime anthem record.”

“The concept of the video is just a summer throwback. It kinda gives you that feeling when you was in high school and you was with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you go to the park and you hang out and you get all cute, and it’s just funners.”

We’re still waiting on that new album, Love and War, but with mommy duties coming, we’ll probably have to keep waiting. But to hold you over, here’s “The One,” with the singer performing it live. And to hear the iTunes version, click over to Tell us if it’s a pass or play for you!
