The buzz surrounding Mona Scott-Young’s Love & Hip Hop franchise only appears to be growing. With the popular show’s current New York season coming to a close and the Atlanta cast preparing for an explosive return, many are wondering which city the media maven will pop up in next, especially since word on the street is that she’s currently conducting interviews for a Chicago spin-off of the show. In an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Mona addressed Chicago rumors and why there hasn’t been a Miami spin-off yet. Check out some of what she had to say.
“I’m always kind of looking at other cities. In between seasons I’m always looking to see kind of where we should move next. I think there was a great scene in Miami. It wasn’t really rooted in hip-hop in a way that I felt could work and if there’s anybody out there that I didn’t talk to while I was out there, I think that’s great, I’d love to hear from you. It actually became the basis for another idea that we were developing. I’ve looked at Houston.”
“There’s a whole thing happening in Chicago right now where apparently someone is out there doing auditions and using my name. They’re calling talking about “Did you call me in for a meeting?” So there’s a lot of fraud going on in Chicago right now. I love Chicago. I’d love to see something happen there, but that is not me out there casting right now for whatever is going on out there.”
And there you have it, folks are out in Chi-town bootlegging the LHH brand!
