And You Thought Your Pregnancy Was Hard: Woman In The UK Gives Birth To 15-Pound, 7 Ounce Baby NATURALLY

March 28, 2013  |

If you’ve given birth, seen a birth, or watched one of those absolutely horrifying birth videos in high school sex education, you know that pushing out a baby isn’t easy. But one thing that can make it ten times harder is if your baby is 15 friggin’ pounds! Saying that out loud just makes my uterus hurt. But a woman in the UK actually pushed out this big guy, who came in at a complete and perfect 15 pounds, seven ounces. It took her 16 hours to bring the child into the world, and she did so NATURALLY. Somebody give this woman a medal!

According to the Daily Mail, Jade Packer, 21, received the shock and scare of her life when her baby turned out bigger than planned, and because of his 15-pound size, got stuck on the way out of her womb because his shoulders were too wide. The baby, named George, was battling for oxygen for nearly 10 minutes and after the fact, was only given a 10 percent chance of survival. But miracles happen, don’t they? Her surprisingly big bundle of joy overcame the odds and he’s growing (even bigger) and doing much better. He is still, however, being watched very closely just in case.

Packer told the BBC, “Everyone was shocked that he was so big. He is a little miracle – a big miracle actually!’” That’s no lie, no lie, no lie-e-i-e-e. “Little” George, who came into the world 15 days after his due date and is six weeks old now, is wearing clothing at this age that is suited for a 6-month-old. And of course, he’s getting too big for that as well as he is now 17 pounds. No one can explain why George came out so large, as his mom is only 5-foot-7, and George’s father, Ryan King, 21, is just 6-foot-2. Either way, he’s sure to be dunking on all the babies that come his way very soon. He’s a blessing indeed, a very BIG blessing.
