He won’t discuss the future with you because there is no future to discuss. Why would he talk about something that doesn’t exist? Don’t push the issue, but simply ask him to go with you to look at houses or to talk about your joint career moves. See how he responds. If he seems disinterested and talks about your life as if it has nothing to do with his own, then you’ve got a problem.
