Winninggggggggg: Kelly Rowland’s Sales Soar Following Super Bowl Performance

February 6, 2013  |

When news broke that Beyoncé invited former Destiny’s Child group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to perform with her at the 2013 Super Bowl, many were shocked, since most of us had pretty much given up on the dream of ever seeing DC3 reunited on one stage again. Since the amazing performance, Beyoncé announced that she would be going on a world tour, but many wondered what the show would mean for the other group members. While Michelle Williams seemed to be the target of negative comments and jokes, which implied that her presence on the halftime stage only confirmed that she has never quite measured up to her über talented group members, Kelly Rowland appears to have received more positive feedback.

It seems that shaking her tailfeather and laying down those smooth vocals on the Super Bowl stage has given Kelly’s image and music sales a slight boost. According to That Grape Juice, since the halftime show, the singer’s previously released singles “Kisses Down Low” and “Ice” have moved up on the iTunes R&B charts.

“Ice,” which went on sale back August of 2012, has secured it’s spot at #29 on the chart, which is kind of a big deal considering how long ago it was released. And Rowland’s most recent single, “Kisses Down Low,” which was produced by Mike Will Made It, has crept up to #27, one spot shy of Keyshia Cole’s recently released “Trust and Believe”.

This is great news for Kelly! We hope that her music keeps climbing up the charts and she continues to receive the recognition that she deserves and works so hard for. 2013 just may be her year.

What did you think of Kelly’s performance during the Super Bowl? Are you digging “Kisses Down Low” or “Ice”?
