While you were probably out living it up this weekend, I was in the house trying to get over a cold. Therefore, I had the chance to catch up on non-cable television, including Saturday Night Live. The Voice judge Adam Levine (with his fine a**) was the judge, and Kendrick Lamar (loooove him) was the musical guest. The show as a whole had some chuckle-worthy moments (just a few though), but I was only watching because I wanted to see Lamar. Out of two performances on the show, including one of his platinum-selling jam, “Swimming Pools,” I was actually really feeling his performance of “Poetic Justice.” And while Drake wasn’t on hand to lay down his part of the track, Lamar made up for it with an awesome saxophonist and band in general, and a very energetic performance. Check that one out.
And if you have another free minute or two, you might want to watch Miguel get VERY caught up in a performance of “Adorn” in London. While singing along with the very hyped up crowd (who knew every word and ad lib in the song), the singer did a MJ spin and found himself falling backwards into the crowd. I’m not even mad at him though, that song brings such a reaction out of everyone, right? This is actually the second time Miguel has accidentally fallen offstage while performing, but we’ll just take that as a sign that he’s very passionate about his jams. Plus, he played it off well and used it as a chance to get closer to his fans. Enjoy the performance, and try not to laugh at the fall. It’s around the 1.48 mark.
