Just because the weather is getting colder and the days shorter doesn’t mean that the dating scene slows down. Though walks on the beach are definitely out of the question, don’t let fall and winter slow down your chance to go on dates. Here are 15 date ideas for autumn and winter that are sure to be a good time.

Make it a double latte

If it’s a cold day outside, there’s nothing wrong with a date at a local coffee shop. Make sure the shop you choose is quaint and is known for serving good drinks. Maybe even go for a short walk with your guy beforehand!

Wine and dine

You can never go wrong with wining and dining. Autumn and winter wines definitely have a distinct flavor. Spend a date tasting several different wines — and maybe treat yourselves to a bottle of your own.

Enjoy a fireplace

The ultimate date for a cold winter or autumn day is time spent by a fireplace. Wrap up in cozy blankets and get all warm and toasty with the help of natural burning wood. Be sure to pick out a movie or two to watch.

Go sledding

With snow on the ground, there’s no better winter date than going sledding. Be sure to bundle up tight and warm and spend a couple hours speeding down snow-covered hills. Continue the date by going somewhere warm after to dry off.

Take a joy ride

If it’s a little too cold to enjoy the beauty of fall outside, hop in the car and take a joy ride. Drive through the mountains or any open area to get a great view of the autumn trees and colors. A camera is a must have on this date.

Cook a meal together

If the weather outside is truly frightful, have a night in at home. Cook a dinner that is fitting for a winter night, like soup or chilli This date will not only be fun but tasty.

Okay so it’s not the girliest date around but it’s bound to be plenty of fun. Work as a team to make sure both of you are able to make it through the course without getting hit with a paintball. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate together afterwards.

Go to an orchard and pick apples

Apples are an autumn fruit and there’s nothing better than picking your own, right from the tree. You and your date can pick apples and do whatever you want with them! Make a pie, bread, or anything else that comes to mind.

Go ice skating

No matter how badly your balance sucks, ice skating is always a cute date. While this date may bring about some pain and bruises the day after, you’ll get a chance to glide on the ice and laugh at each other’s lack of skills.

Create something

Head to a local craft store and buy some paint, a canvas, and other supplies so the two of you can let your creative sides run wild. Paint a picture. Create a paper mache figure. Let your imagination loose!

Have a picnic

Who doesn’t like to eat?! On a nice autumn day, invite your date out to go on a picnic. Be sure to bring plenty of blankets and some warm drinks to complete the date.

Search out a local fair

Plenty of fairs occur during fall. Keep your eye out for chili cook-offs, craft fairs, beerfests, and so on. This is the perfect way to get to know each other while having some fun. Be sure the prices aren’t too expensive when it comes to entrance fees.

Go to a museum

On those really cold days when being outside is just a no-go, spend some time at a museum that both of you are interested in walking through. Museums aren’t overly pricey and both of you can learn plenty! Be prepared for plenty of talking. FYI here’s a list of some of the best African American museums in the country.

Play in the leaves

Even though it sounds a little childish, you can’t deny the beauty of autumn leaves. Take your date out on an autumn day and get in touch with your youthful side. It’s a lot more fun than you think.
