Hey weekend loves!  Well, after a little fishing here and there I’ve found some interesting news on possible new relationships, new gigs for a couple of popular people and once again, people are beefing in the music industry. Check it out!

Trina and Letoya Luckett Across The Pond?

If you follow the wives and girlfriends of NBA players, you may have noticed that there was one picture in particular that made some raise an eyebrow. Rapper Trina and singer Letoya Luckett have been in London for the Olympic games; to some it may seem kind of odd since they have no real stakes in this game.  However, they’ve both been part of the rumor mill for a few months because Trina is allegedly dating James Harden and Letoya is allegedly dating Kevin Durant, both members of the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Alright ladies, we see you! (And yes, that is Keshia Knight-Pulliam next to Letoya – they’re very good friends).

Terrence J Lands New Gig Post 106th

Go, TJ!!  According to The Jasmine Brand, the soon-to-be former host of 106th & Park has landed a job on Entertainment Tonight. He’ll be starting out as a contributing reporter while still being able to pursue a career in acting.  I’m a huge fan of Terrence J’s hustle so I’m proud like we’re related!

Trey Songz Reveal His Thoughts on Ne-Yo and Lauren London

One thing that has been pretty consistent with Trey Songz is that he usually follows a politician’s way of answering questions: answer it without being direct. But in a recent interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles, he was feeling particularly open.  When asked his thoughts on comments made by Neyo in which he said he thinks Trey hasn’t reached his full potential yet, Trey replied:

“I’ma talk to Ne-yo when I see him. It ain’t even that. The thing is that Ne-yo knows me. Ain’t no need to have that conversation for the world to hear, you know. And I feel like that’s a sucker move.”

And about that nagging rumor about his relationship with Lauren London:

“Lauren London is a very important person to me. I love her to death. Is she my woman? No. We are great friends and we have been lovers before. And I’m saying this on this camera right now, I’m tired of people asking me about that sh-t.”

Well, I guess we finally know the answer to that. Head over to Necole Bitchie for more from the interview and video footage.

Azealia Banks versus…Jim Jones?

Yes, for her 50th Twitter fight of the month, Azealia Banks is on Twitter beefing with Jim Jones over the most ridiculous thing: the origin of the term “vamp.” Last week, Banks laid claimed to the word saying that it pre-dates Jones’ own “vampire life” term and is used in the fashion industry. For his part, Jimmy says “vampire life” is the term he coined because of his up all night working habits.  They exchanged tweets and on Saturday, Azealia released a track called “Succubi” aiming right for Jim.  The song talks about how the now jailed Max B wrote his rhymes, how Cam’ron calls him a lame and much more.  What is wrong with this girl?  Is the new thing to just talk the most ish possible before people even really know who you are? I guess. Complex has the full song.

Young Jeezy’s new job

Talk about a come up!  Young Jeezy was named Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records earlier this week and by all accounts this comes as a huge surprise.  First of all, he’s signed as an artist to Def Jam Records. Second, one would think Atlantic Records would look at their very own T.I. for the job considering his success with other artists. Finally, Jeezy hasn’t had much success in properly showcasing his own talents so to know that he’s now partially responsible for someone else’s career as a “suit” is pretty interesting.  Congrats to him though!

Actor Al Freeman, Jr. Passes Away

In a statement released by Howard University, actor Al Freeman passed away on Friday.  A professor at Howard for many years, Freeman was probably best known for his portrayal of Elijah Muhammad in Malcolm X.  He was also the first Black man to win a Daytime Emmy for a leading role in a soap opera back in 1964.  The confirmation of his passing gave no information of the cause but the university said a statement would be issued at a later time, according to the Chicago Tribune.  He was 78 years old.

Introducing: Avery Sunshine

I’m really hoping this isn’t the first time you’re hearing of Avery but if it is, you are in for a treat.  Avery’s voice is like pure butter and her harmonies are out of this world!  VH1 Soul often plays the video for her single “All In My Head” which is one of my favorites by her along with “Ugly Part of Me.”  I don’t want to force you into anything but you would certainly be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t check her out.  When have I ever let you down?!
