Aaahh there’s nothing quite as sweet as young, blossoming love. The stolen kisses, hand-holding, hours-long conversations and romantic dates. Since we’re women who love a good romance, we decided to hit up our Facebook and Twitter followers to get them to share their best first date stories with us. We collected a few in the following pages. After you read, if you feel inspired, feel free to leave your best first date story in the comments section below.

DaGeneral Patton: Best 1st Date was a last minute decision to see Ledisi perform at a club in the Castro. We were feeling very good after. Hehe!

Kyle: Saturday afternoon just getting off work he tells me to meet him a central park. I get there so late but he’s patiently waiting. I’m so apologetic but he’s cool. Find a nice spot in the park had his blanket & organic food (wine, meat & cheeses, dip, pasta). We ate listened to music through his portable speakers conversed. Then it rained on us out of nowhere. Running down the street, drenched but in good spirits. Cleared up and we dried off then went to his house & watched a movie (knew him prior to 1st date.)

C Sure: He picked me up and had a dozen Red roses, and rented out a whole restaurant for my Birthday. Then we danced the night away. Best birthday I had.

Yvette: An amusement park. I love roller coasters and funnel cake… It was awesome.

Lisa: I went to iHop with my now current boyfriend and he helped me braid my hair in his living room when we came back! That was two years ago. He is a keeper!

Nadine: It was my birthday 1990 and the person, who became my long term lover, took me to dinner and the restaurant had closed down. Fortunately he could think on his feet and whisked me away to another great restaurant. We had a lovely dinner and then went to the beach. My birthday is in July so that worked. We walked and talked and ended the night on a great note. We were together for 3 years and then it all ended. I wonder what he’s doing now?

Michelle: Newport, Rhode Island! Two, broke young people who didn’t really have anything strolling around the town, looking at beautiful mansions, eating at nice places, riding on the trolly, walking up this long path along the Atlantic Ocean, etc. New Hampshire is another, but Newport took the cake for me. Men: don’t take your woman to a club. Take her to Newport (or places like that)!

Robin: The Zoo, lunch on a boat pier, and drinks outdoors at a nice bar. We’re coming up on a year now come to think of it ♥… And every date this past year has been just as great as the first!! 🙂

Jameela: We met Borders we couldn’t stop laughing because he walked passed me at 1st. He didn’t recognized me from my picture. 🙂

Lisa: When I was 15 I met this boy over the phone. For a couple of weeks we talked on the phone everyday. Then one day he caught the bus to meet me in person. He was cute but not what I expected. He was shy and I had a friend with me so he felt kind of ignored. Wow that was almost 28 years ago. I’ve been married to him for 23 years.

Patrice: We went to the planetarium here in Chicago. Had an amazing time and we had free tickets so that made it even better. Then we took a nice walk along the lakefront and had an easy and fun conversation. After that, we did some people watching by Soldier Field (there was a Bruce Springsteen concert that night, so all kinds of crazily dressed people were walking by, and we’re both clowns so our commentary was hilarious lol). He jokes that it was his best date ever and the only money that he spent was on a $2 Dr. Pepper for me. Anyhoo, we just celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday, August 7th, and we’re still going strong and very much in love 🙂

Tamara: I had never been to the beach. He took me to Va. Beach as our first date.

Lynette: My 1st best date was with the man I married, Tracy. He asked my brothers if he could take me out. He picked me up. We went to the Aztec theater and watched a Bruce Lee flick. Necked in the balcony, movie done, headed to Fuddruckers. We ate burgers and talked for hours. Then we walked the riverwalk and talked more and got to know each other to where we finished each other’s sentences. We ended up at his place. He had flowers and drinks waiting. Needless to say the rest is history…26 years…9 daughters…and 13 grandchildren….
