We all want to change something in our lives. Some of us want a better job, some want to get a job and others hope to launch a business. If you find yourself muttering “I need to get my life together,” for the 100th time and it’s only Monday, maybe it’s time to make some changes in your life right now. If you think it’s time but you’re unsure of how to go about making those changes, Forbes offers five tips to do so that you can begin to implement immediately.

First tip: Quit something. Quit a job, or a side hustle or perhaps an organization you’ve been volunteering with. Forbes says that quitting is the best way to start something. Even if you like the job, perhaps you recognize it’s not where your focus should be. Quitting something can be a release, and it can put you on the right track to figuring out where you want to go next.

Next: Start something. Start anything, even if you never plan to do it again. Life is about experiences and experiments. Whether the experiments succeeded or failed, at least you were able to experiment and experience different facets of life.

Third tip: Stop Thinking. When you want to step out and try something new, your mind usually begins to think of reasons why it’s not a good idea. Stop thinking, put your body in motion and let your mind follow where you’re going next.

Fourth tip: Stop making excuses. Making excuses is easy and it’s nothing new. We’ve all been told over and over again that once you stop making excuses, you’ll be able to move forward. Now is the time to take charge and finally take this bit of advice.

Lastly: Give Up. Stop trying so hard on what’s giving you the most trouble. If sending out resumes isn’t working, then stop sending out resumes. If you don’t want to be labeled as unemployed, think of yourself as self-employed. If you’re not making enough money doing what you’re doing, then stop thinking of how much money you need to be happy and be creative with what you already have. Take a walk, try Zumba, watch a movie. When you take a minute and give up on what you thought was most important, you may find that the answer you were looking for will come straight to you.
