Fashion Forward Femme Fatale: Key Style Looks From Zoe Kravitz

Zoe Kravitz was destined to be a (rock) star from the moment she was born. The daughter of talented singer, musician and actor Lenny Kravitz and Cosby Show and Different World alum Lisa Bonet, Zoe has been around eclectic, free-spirited style all her life.

These days, the young Kravitz is following in her parents’ footsteps and making her mark in the acting world.  She has appeared in films such as The Brave One with Terrance Howard, and No Reservations, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones. Zoe has also expressed her hereditary singing talent in projects like will.i.am’s “We Are the Ones” music video, in support of then-presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Perusing through fashion magazines or keeping up with red carpet style indicates that Zoe is just as serious about fashion as she is about her budding career. She combines her second-nature rocker chic style and Old Hollywood elegance to create a look we’ll never get tired of watching.

Zoe’s easy-going summer style is both bohemian and country-chic. The wide-brimmed hat in a neutral tone makes her pistachio maxi dress even more noticeable. Her long, slightly messy tresses and nude face draw more attention to the dress as well, but she keeps her rocker roots intact by wearing several rings and few bracelets to complete the look.

Zoe is both vibrant and sophisticated in this feathery Jasper Conran gown she donned for her photo shoot in Vanity Fair. Her layered curls and monochromatic makeup make her appear refined without aging her more than her 23 years. This look is polished without being stuffy, and is perfect for displaying somewhat risky style at a formal event.

Kravitz’s love for color is evident in this floral-print mini dress with sky blue heels. The look also appears effortless, yet well put-together (and isn’t that our goal every morning when we get dressed?) A dab of blush, a little pink lip gloss, and a few fashionable rings, and you’ll be ready for anything from a brunch with friends to an independent film premier.

Zoe shows her natural ability to combine distressed and high-fashion pieces in the look she chose for the L.A.M.B. reception in 2010. Her shiny, fitted jeans provide an appealing contrast to her vintage t-shirt and button-down. Red shoes add a pop of color to her modestly-hued outfit, and an over-sized snakeskin tote gives the look a hint of edginess. Her androgynous jewelry and fedora are an ode to interesting, masculine style, no doubt inspired by her father.

Bright colors and funky patterns aren’t the only way to be eclectic. Zoe shows off her relaxed style with a loose-fitting black tank and high-waisted, wheat colored trousers. The neutral colors of her outfit bring more attention to her collage of tattoos, and her burgundy nails add a pop of color. Add a blazer to this for a day at the office, or go sans jacket for a stroll in the park or a day of running errands.
