Get Your Wife: Fertile NFL Player’s Spouse Faked Suicide Over Cheating Suspicions

May 21, 2012  |

You probably don’t know 28-year-old NY Jets player Antonio Cromartie by name because he’s more known for the number of kids and baby mamas he has than his stats on the field. We brought him up last month because seven of the women who birthed his 10 kids were plotting for a reality show about their non-traditional family (to put it lightly), but we just figured out how baby mama number eight/Antonio’s wife could marry a man with such a ratchet past—she’s just as unstable.

Terricka Cason Cromartie, who previously boasted on Twitter that she’s expecting twins in November, went to extreme measures to get her husband’s attention last May, according to a story just exposed by the NY Post. While away in Miami, Antonio frantically called Randolph Township, NJ, police at 2:43 am May 6, 2011 after receiving text messages from his wife that read:

“God forgive me, I don’t want to die. What have I done?”

“I cut my wrists. I took those pills.”

When police arrived at the couple’s home after Anthony told a dispatcher, “There’s a problem at my house. She’s bleeding. She cut her wrists,” no one answered the bell or phone. Cops were forced to break down two doors with an ax and sledgehammer, and when they ran upstairs there was Terricka, lying in bed with her two daughters—chilling. No blood, no knife, no pills, not a scratch.

Terricka confessed to officers that she texted the suicide fib because she thought her husband was cheating on her. According to a police report:

“She stated that she had no intention of going through with the act. She said she was exercising her First Amendment right to free speech and could say whatever she wanted.”

Wait, it gets even better though—or worse. Terricka also admitted to sending text messages to the woman she thought her husband was sleeping with. Apparently she wanted to scare her off—as if 10 kids wouldn’t be enough—“telling her that both she [Terricka] and her husband have [word redacted] even though they do not,” the report said.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that word is herpes, Aids, HIV or something along those lines.

Officers wisely told Terricka she had to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at a local hospital, which she objected to, claiming a paid driver was coming to take to her to the airport to go to Miami, and that she would be in her sister’s wedding that weekend. When the cops insisted she was “in need of involuntary commitment,” she reportedly became “belligerent, uncooperative, irrational and argumentative.”

After also claiming to have no one to watch her kids, Terricka finally agreed to be checked out while the state’s child-protection agency took temporary care of her daughters. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that evaluation. We’d probably want to kill ourselves if we were married to this man too but who fakes a suicide for attention? This whole situation shows these two were made for each other, but I’m whipping out my prayer cloth for these kid’s futures.
