Shay Love is a mental health coach and ambassador who has appeared on VH1, NBC and BET. But, most importantly, she’s a mom- and Love is always looking for ways to spend quality time with her daughter. One of her favorite ways to bond with her kid during the summer is by going to the movies. Here, Love shares why she’s excited to take her eight-year-old girl to see Paws of Fury.

  1. It’ll be a fun activity to get out the house and do something that entertains and educates your children.
  2. “It’s a hero journey,” as Love puts it. “We all love a good underdog story.” The movie tells the tale of a once-bullied dog who, under the instruction of a samurai, learns how to fight back against a villainous cat threatening his village. “It teaches our kids that they can be heroes of their own stories,” says Love.
  3. The messages are relatable and timeless. This story teaches the importance of teamwork, redemption and bravery.
  4. It has an amazing voice cast. Your kids will laugh at what is being said in the movie, but grownups will love who’s doing the talking. This all-star cast boasts Samuel L. Jackson, Gabriel Iglesias, Aasif Mandvi, Mel B, Ricky Gervais, Michael Cera and even Michelle Yeoh as the fearless cat, Yuki. Parents will love hearing these and other silver screen icons speak through the cartoons.
  5. It’s family-friendly with something for kids and adults. Finding a movie that’s just as entertaining for children as it is for parents isn’t easy. Luckily, Paws of Fury has physical comedy and animation that little ones love, with pop culture references grownups can appreciate.

Parents are always looking for enriching ways to entertain their kids, and Love says that Paws of Fury serves life lessons on an animated platter. Aka “Winning!” Be sure to grab your tickets for Paws of Fury at a theater near you when it comes out on July 15, 2022.
