The school year will start up again in roughly four to six weeks, depending on the calendar your kids’ educational institution follows. Some reports say that as many as three out of four college students plan on returning to campus this fall, but many elementary and high school-aged children will be sitting at least the first quarter out. And if you’re lucky enough to have a job that’s extended remote working, that means your home will continue to be the place where your entire family eats, works, studies, plays, and more. That’s a lot of activity every day all day, which means the house can get messy, quickly. Here are tips for de-cluttering, when you’re all at home, all of the time.
Keep the laundry moving
If you have children and a partner, then between all of you, you can easily fill up a laundry machine every day. There are the pajamas, the towels, the underwear, the exercise gear…You can no longer just have laundry day. You must have laundry hour, every day. Get in the habit of just scheduling tasks around laundry. Put in a load. Do a task that takes as long as that load takes. Switch it over. Repeat. It actually helps keep you working at a good pace.
