People are dying to name “the next Oprah”—as if she’s not still around—but Queen Latifah says if you’re thinking of passing that title off to miss Dana Owens, think again.

“People say I’m going to be the next Oprah. No. Oprah is still Oprah. I’ll be the next me. I feel like there’s always a lane for me as long as I’m true to myself.”

I hear that. Queen Latifah has a gorgeous cover on the January issue of Essence magazine, and inside she talks about her rise to fame as a rapper, actress, singer, spokesmodel, and producer, and how the best is yet to come.

What do you think of the Queen’s cover and her multi-platform career?
