Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of beauty, personal, home care, and food products with brands like Dove, Vaseline, Q-tips, Suave, St. Ives, Simple, Magnum, Degree, and a host of others under its umbrella. As such, the company has immediately pledged to spend $8 million through donations of food, soap, personal hygiene, and home cleaning products to its partner Feeding America. On a local level, Unilever is also donating more than 200,000 masks to hospitals in New Jersey, where it’s headquartered, to help protect health care workers.
Additionally, on May 21, Unilever United States is organizing a national Day of Service, which is estimated to provide $12 million of support for Americans in need. According to a news release, “Every essential item produced by Unilever employees at its network of 14 U.S. factories that day or products of equal value will be donated and delivered to its community partners to provide to those most in need…Additionally, Unilever will devote its entire marketing and advertising spend that day to support the Day of Service by promoting non-profit partners, relief organizations, and other community groups that will distribute products to those most in need.”
