According to The New York Times, over 500,000 McDonald’s employees who do not have access to paid sick leave. They’ve taken the following actions in regards to the coronavirus:

  • Does not offer paid sick leave to all employees.
  • Encouraging customers to use take out or drive-thru options.
  • Ramping up access to hand sanitizer for employees and guests, also encouraging employees to wash their hands more. The company also has increased its daily cleaning practices in order to protect employees and customers.
  • Announced they will close seating areas and play areas in response to COVID-19.
