As one of the leading automobile manufactures in America, Ford is stepping up to the plate to produce ventilators and plastic face shields.

  • The American auto company has joined with innovative firms 3M and GE Healthcare to assemble needed tools to combat the coronavirus across America.
  • GE Healthcare and Ford will collaborate to produce a simplified version of GE’s Healthcare ventilator design in anticipation of the thousands of ventilators that will be needed for patients experiencing respiratory difficulties.
  • Ford is slated to assemble more than 100,000 needed plastic face shields per week to distribute to medical professionals, using 3D printing capabilities.
  • “At Ford, we feel a deep obligation to step up and contribute in times of need, just as we always have through the 117-year history of our company,” read a statement from the company’s executive chairman, Bill Ford.
