For grocery stores that have to remain open, Trader Joes presented a humane model for their employees and customers in response to the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak.
- “Crew Members have been asked to exercise increased precautions to safeguard their health and the health of their community, including staying home if they have any symptoms of illness or do not feel well. To better support each Crew Member in making community-minded decisions, we have made available additional paid sick time to all of our Crew Members,” a statement from the company reads.
- The company also suspended all food samplings and tastings.
- Offering limited hours (9:00 a.m. to 7 p.m.) so that employees can spend more time with their family and loved ones.
