Regular required checkups

I didn’t realize how much my parents, and then my school, took care of my health before. My mom made my appointments for my check-ups, teeth cleanings, and—later in life—pap smears and Well Women’s exams. In college, I got little reminders in their online system when it was time for these exams. As an adult, I accidentally went four years without a teeth cleaning or a checkup. I thought someone would remind me, but nobody did.
