Tell yourself that if you spend X amount less on food this month, you can use part of it to…get a massage…have a staycation in a hotel with some girlfriends…buy that bag you love. Don’t use all of it, because then you didn’t really save money. But allocate some of it to something else you want—something that has more permanence than cheesecake.
