Malika Haqq Reveals She Froze Her Eggs Only To Get Pregnant The Natural Way Soon After: “I Made A Baby In Love”
Malika Haqq didn’t know when or if she would become a mother when she decided to freeze her eggs last year, but she knew that she wanted to be one. So imagine her surprise when she went through that process, only to find herself pregnant months later without having to even touch those eggs.
“The reason why I was so excited to learn that I was pregnant was because I knew that my life was going to change for the better, the greatest blessing that I’ve always wanted but didn’t know I was going to get, is finally here,” the 36-year-old said while breaking into tears on her Facebook Watch series with her twin sister Khadijah, called Side by Side.
Khadijah is married with three children. Her oldest is 15, so watching her sister create this family over the years and being a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews and friends made Malika want to do something to be able to start her own brood.
“I didn’t know when I was going to have children, so deciding to freeze my eggs as a gift to myself for my 35th birthday was pretty hilarious now at this point because I have eggs in the freezer that I may never use because I made a baby in love and those eggs weren’t necessary,” she said. “It’s insurance ’cause you just never know. It’s funny how you plan and then life happens.”
Khadijah agreed, saying that God had bigger plans for her sister.
“God had a plan too,” her twin said. “I vote his plan every single time because this happened, the way it was supposed to.”
Malika said when she froze her eggs, she actually didn’t plan to touch them for some time.
“I froze my eggs and I just knew I wasn’t having kids for a while,” she said. “I purchased the five-year freezing package. ‘Oh yeah, I’ve got time.’ They’re waiting it out, and then boom!”
She went through the process of freezing her eggs on her birthday in 2018, which is in March, and around the same time this year, she found out she was expecting.
“I literally got pregnant a year later in which I froze my eggs, so…can’t get that freezer money back,” she joked.
While Malika hasn’t explicitly said who the father of her child is, an unnamed source confirmed to Us Weekly in September that actress and Kardashian BFF’s ex-boyfriend, rapper O.T. Genasis, 32, is the father. Malika announced back in June that she was “Single” after the pair, who first got together in 2017, were off and on since 2018. The two were recently seen together at a nail salon in LA in late October. A source told Us Weekly that the two seemed to be catching up, but it wasn’t a romantic outing.
“Malika and O.T. were not showing any PDA … but they definitely seemed very comfortable with each other and were friendly and laughing a lot.”
She announced in September, with the help of Clearblue, that she was expecting, and revealed a few days ago, with the help of Bio-Oil this time, that she’s having a boy.

It’s A Boy!!! 👶🏽 I’m thankful to my baby boy and @BioOilUSA for my pregnancy glow. #BioOilPartner 🧡 I’ve used this oil for over 10 years to lessen the appearance of scars, stretch marks and for instant moisture. I wouldn’t dare go this pregnancy without it. #LoveYourMarks
