Zoe Kravitz To Star As Catwoman In The Upcoming “Batman” Film
Congrats are in order for actress Zoe Kravitz.
The 30-year-old was just cast in Warner Bros upcoming “Batman” film as Catwoman. Zoe will be the third black catwoman in the franchise’s history, following in the claw prints of Eartha Kit & Halle Berry.
The film, by Matt Reeves, will feature Zoe alongside Robert Pattinson.
According to Variety, Zoe beat out an impressive shortlist of actresses vetted for the film, including Zazie Beetz of “Atlanta,” “Deadpool 2” and “Joker,” “Baby Driver’s” Eiza Gonzalez and Oscar winner Alicia Vikander.
Matt Reeves announced his leading lady pick with a gif of Zoe on Twitter:
Zoe’s step dad, Jason Momoa, took to Instagram to congratulate the star.
“I’m so proud of u zozo bear. On and off screen OHANA. DC WB ohana Lola and Wolfies big sister is CAT WOMAN😍😍😍 Unbelievable so freaking stoked. Your going to have so much fun Aloha P bear,” he captioned a photo of the two. Jason is married to Zoe’s mom, Lisa Bonet.
Zoe responded, making a quick joke about the fact that both their super-hero identities (Jason is Aquaman), will get to hang out now.
“LOVE YOU PAPABEAR! love that aquaman and catwomen spend the holidays together from now on,” she said.
Zoe is best known for her role in “Big Little Lies.” She also has a Hulu series called “High Fidelity” coming later on this year. The last woman to slip on the catsuit for a major film was Anne Hathway in 2012.
