The death of the legendary singer Prince was a major loss in music. His legacy continues to live on not only through artists he influenced but also events that celebrate his impact in music. Besides Spike Lee’s annual Purple People Party at Brooklyn’s Restoration Plaza, another group of Brooklyn natives also host an event celebrating Prince.
On October 19th from 1 p.m to 6 p.m, BklynGurl Productions will host their second annual “The Purple Paisley Brunch-An Afternoon in Paris in Black and White” at New York City’s Taj Lounge. The brunch will be a quality dining experience with surprise celebrity guests and musical performances that will celebrate the Purple one. The brunch is also being sponsored by the PRN Alumni Foundation, which is comprised of former employees of Paisley Park and Prince.
The Purple Paisley Brunch features influential musicians, celebrities, fashion influencers & music fans inspired by the influence of The Minneapolis Sound,” reads a press release.
The brunch will be hosted by Jerome Benton, known for starring alongside Prince in Purple Rain, Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge.
