Stay With A Check: Kandi Burruss Joins Cast Of “The Chi”
People can say whatever they want about Kandi Burruss. But no one can ever say that she left money on the table. In addition to returning to “Real Housewives of Atlanta’ for season 12, working on an album for Xscape, Bedroom Kandi and all of her other business, Burruss is also throwing her hat back into the acting ring.
According to Shadow and Act, the Jill of all Trades will be coming to season 3 of Showtime’s “The Chi.”
Burros will play Roselyn Perry, “the estranged wife of Douda (Curtiss Cook) who has returned to help advance his political agenda and help herself in the process.”
Series regulars will include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael Epps and Birgundi Baker. Luke James, La La Anthony and Lil Rel Howery, who will all have recurring roles.
Justin Hillian, the writer for “Snowfall,” will replace Ayanna Floyd Davis as showrunner for the series. Davis was embroiled in the sexual harassment claims both she and actress Tiffany Boone made against actor Jason Mitchell. Davis released a statement claiming that Lena Waithe, the show’s creator knew about the harassment which allegedly began during the first season. In fact, she was hired by Waithe to hopefully address and resolve the problem. Instead, she became a victim of Mitchell’s alleged harassment herself.
Season 3 of “The Chi” will air in 2020.
