The “Girlfriends” Are Coming To “black-ish”
“Girlfriends” was much-beloved by so many of Black women. Not only because of the authenticity of the storylines but the palpable bond we felt between the four women who portrayed these memorable characters.
So when the series ended abruptly it was disappointing. Not only because we were left feeling unresolved but also because we’d miss the dynamic that these four Black women created together.
Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, the women will appear together again on the Oct. 8 episode of the show, titled “Feminisn’t.”
ABC provided this synopsis of the show:
“When Bow [Ross] learns that Diane [Marsai Martin] and Ruby [Jenifer Lewis] don’t believe in feminism, she brings Diane to meet the women in her feminist group. Bow’s friend Abby [guest stare Nadia Quinn] thinks the group needs to be more inclusive, so Bow invites three of her girlfriends to join. Meanwhile, Junior [Marcus Scribner] and Jack [Miles Brown] help Dre [Anthony Anderson] after he realizes he is out of touch with modern day feminism.”
Tracee Ellis Ross confirmed the news in an Instagram post. See what she had to say about the reunion below.
