Beyond the Bars: 8 Ex-Offenders Who’ve Made Inspiring Transformations
After being sentenced to 18 years in prison at the age of 19 for drug possession and armed violence, Karlton Harris knew that he had nowhere left to turn but toward a higher power. That epiphany led him to a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and ministry at the House of Prayer Apostolic Church of God in Kankakee, IL. He is a published author of two books entitled, No Test, No Testimony and I’m Free! Now What? The latter has been utilized by the Kankakee County Detention Center, the Illinois Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a tool to reduce recidivism. Harris is currently working on developing two television series entitled, “Parent Report Card” and “Children of Incarcerated Parents”. Harris’ accomplishments are proof that sometimes in life all you need is just a little faith.
