Two Black Trans Women Reportedly Killed Within Days Of Each Other
In 2019, 18 trans women have been killed. And most of them are Black women. The two most recent victims are Bailey Reeves, of Baltimore, and Bee Love of South Florida.
According to WMAR 2 News, Reeves, 17, was leaving a party in the neighborhood on the night of her death, September 2. Her body was found when another teenager heard gunshots and then someone screaming, “My friend! Someone help my friend! Call 911!” The witness ran outside with family members and discovered the body of Reeves laying in a pool of blood.
Reeves’ body was transported to the hospital where she later died.
Social media posts claim that Bailey was shot in the torso.
Two days after her death police in South Florida found a body burned inside a vehicle. According to NBC 2, the body was burned beyond recognition. Authorities did eventually learn the identity of the victim but decided not to release the name to the public.
Several social media users claim that the victim was Bee Love, a 21-year-old woman, was shot several times, her hands were tied together and then the car was set on fire.
While authorities have yet to identify her, reports claim that family members have identified her as the woman in the car and her Facebook account has been memorialized.
