In addition to her role as Annalise Keating on ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder,” Viola Davis is slated to take on the role of our forever First Lady Michelle Obama.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Davis will not only play Mrs. Obama, she will executive produce the anthology First Ladies for Showtime along with her husband Julius Tennon for the company JuVee Productions.
The husband-wife couple will partner with Lionsgate for the series which is currently in development.
The series will focus on the personal and political lives of some of the country’s most memorable first ladies like Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, Michelle Obama.
Aaron Cooley will write the script and executive produce with Tennon, Davis and Cathy Schulman and her Welle Entertainment company.
The series will air on Showtime. This is the second partnership with a network. They also have a first look deal with Amazon.
