Moon Palace Jamaica is quickly becoming one of the top entertainment destinations in the Caribbean. Plus, its prime location in Ocho Rios makes it perfect for a vacation with your girls in paradise. And paradise is exactly what I got when I was invited to stay there.
In partnership with the Jamaica Tourist Board and Atlantic Records, Moon Palace hosted an exclusive performance with R&B/pop artist Bazzi to celebrate the release of his new single “Paradise,” which he recently performed at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards. It was literally “Paradise” in Paradise.
During the intimate and private show, Bazzi performed a small selection of songs, new and old, including his 2018 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Mine.” If you’re really into music, like me, this was such a cool treat. Not too many people can say that they got to watch a certified platinum artist perform up close and personal, just steps away from an ivory sand beach.
Besides hosting world-class performers, Moon Palace offers a great selection of nightlife for those who are ready to safely let loose after a day full of water activities and visiting local attractions.
Immediately following Bazzi’s pool-side concert, I walked around the corner to Loud Bar, and let me tell you, its name describes it to a T – in the very best way. The live band inside, fronted by a powerful sister, delivered jam after jam. And when I say this woman could sing, I mean she could really SANG. I’ve never heard anyone cover Shaggy’s “Wasn’t Me” so impeccably, raps and all.
On another evening, I checked out NOIR, the super chic nightclub located right in Moon Palace’s lobby. Immediately upon stepping up to the entrance, I was greeted by smiling staff members. Then, as soon as I turned the corner, it was conga time – yes, conga can be chic! Throughout the night, an energetic DJ curated dancehall vibes, before showering us with music by one of the greatest reggae artists that ever lived: Bob Marley. After all, it is Jamaica.
In addition to Loud Bar and NOIR, on-site there is also an elegant Piano Bar, plus a Lobby Bar great for socializing with other guests. And did I mention Moon Palace is all-inclusive? Let me stop you before your mind begins to wander. Every bar at the resort was stocked full of top shelf liquor. That’s right. The good stuff. And aside from Moon Palace’s many dining options, they also offer 24-hour room service. So, you can dance the night away – your favorite drink in hand – and ditch that fear of the dreaded hangover (ahem, three drink maximum, okay?).
If you do happen to stay out too late, which I was guilty of, you can literally stumble out of your room to re energize and rejuvenate at Moon Palace’s signature AWE Spa, the largest spa in Jamaica. I had the luxury of indulging in their 50 minute Holistic massage, and let me tell you, it was just what I needed. The professionally trained therapist who gave me my treatment was gentle, yet super effective, so, after following my service up with a dip in a warm pool, I was ready to take on the day.
