Happy girls spending a day off together

After my second big chop two years ago, I started taking a different approach when it came to styling for my hair. For eight years I was the queen of mohawks, braidouts and bantu knots but after almost a decade of being natural I grew weary of that. I wanted to do less braidouts and more wash-and-go’s. Now that it has been two years my fro is just as full and thick as it was before and I am doing things totally different.

After washing and deep conditioning my hair I would usually braid it but those days are over. One product that had helped me embrace the wash-and-go life is Cantu’s Coconut Curling Cream. It’s a lightweight cream with a great scent that I’ve been slathering all throughout my hair and it’s been having my curls on point. This cream surprised me when it actually gave me what I wanted: elongated curls and no shrinkage. I’ve been highly disappointed with other products that promise me curls that last all day long and by sundown I have a little, dry fro that I can’t manage. Fortunately, after using this product I was all smiles.

Before I use the curling cream, I apply Cantu’s Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream all throughout my hair. I take a healthy scoop of the curling cream and rake it through my damp hair with my fingers.  Once my hair air dries, I’m pleased to feel my curls and they are moisturized, soft and defined. The coconut curling cream is also light, so it won’t weigh down your fro.

Cantu’s Coconut Curling Cream is available at CVS, Target and other stores that carry Cantu products.
