Trina works overtime to steer clear of drama. If it’s not about positivity or getting that coin, the Diamond Princess is not here for it. For this reason, the Miami rapper was particularly perturbed when she was dragged into mess after Reginald Saunders, Head of A&R at Rockstarr Music Group, hopped on the socials to call Nicki Minaj a “deceiver” and “manipulator” behind what he perceived as Nicki’s failure to promote the “BAPS” track — a single from Trina’s new album, The One, which features the Queens rapper.
“When everyone tried to warn me I still gave her the benefit of the doubt,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to see how all of this is about to play out because you can’t stop karmas reign, shame on you .. I mostly feel sorry for the #barbs because they have no clue of the deceiver and manipulator their leader is.”
Nicki addressed the drama, stating that she had done as much as her schedule allowed to promote the single.
“Right now Trina’s camp is accusing me of not doing enough to push her song ‘Baps,'” Nicki said. “I have my own schedule… it’s not fair that people don’t understand that. I would never have someone from my team disrespect somebody that has been nothing but real to me.”
Wednesday, Trina took to Instagram Live to speak her peace on the situation and it seems that she stands in direct opposition of the comments made by Saunders.
“There is no beef between me and Nicki Minaj,” she said. “There will be no disrespect for Nicki Minaj or nobody else that’s on my album.”
According to Trina, Nicki “did her part” and that “it’s up to me and my team to do our part.”
Trina went on to blame “bad business” for the drama, stating that she and her team “dropped the ball.”
“I appreciate each and every artist that took the initiative to be a part of this The One album. Rico Love gave his all for me. Every artist that came out to do this album for me, they didn’t charge me,” she added. “Anything else that’s going on within that and around that, let me deal with that. Everybody else that’s outside of that, keep your f-cking mouth shut… all of y’all that are dragging my name thru the mud, dirtying my name, my face, without me saying a word, you can suck my a– through a straw. And I mean that. I’m a real b-tch and I don’t play those games.”
