Kimora Lee Simmons And Djimon Hounsou Are Caught In A Custody Battle Over 10-Year-Old Son
Things have gone sour between Kimora Lee Simmons and her ex Djimon Hounsou over custody of their 10-year-old son, Kenzo. Hounsou has filed for joint custody of Kenzo after complaining that Lee Simmons keeps him away from their son, TMZ reports. Lee Simmons is reportedly worried that Hounsou will take Kenzo to Africa and not return since he has allegedly threatened to do so.
The Baby Phat mogul was served with the papers for joint custody on Friday (August 9th).
It has also been reported that Russell Simmons, who still has a close relationship with his ex-wife who he shares two daughters with, claims that Hounsou doesn’t pay Lee Simmons child support but has requested that she pay him child support. Simmons also reportedly tried to reason with Hounsou on Lee Simmons’ behalf, asking that he sign a document saying that he promised not to take Kenzo to Africa but he declined.
On Father’s Day this year, Hounsou said he didn’t spend the special day with his son because Lee Simmons keeps him away from him.
“It would have been nice if I could see my son for Father’s Day, ” he told TMZ in June. “It would’ve been nice if I could see him to at least talk to him.”
When he was asked when was the last time he saw his son he said he couldn’t recall.
She has denied these allegations, saying that Hounsou is an absentee father that isn’t concerned with spending quality time with Kenzo.
