Rapper Cardi B is dipping her toe back into the political pond to stand up for Rep. Ilhan Omar after crowd members at a Trump rally in North Carolina on Wednesday chanted, “Send her back,” after he littered a barrage of insults in her name.

As the crowd roared, Trump instead stayed quiet and looked around, an action that made the chant grow louder.

The responses to disavow the crowd’s chant have been swift, aside from Republican lawmakers who have generally hesitated to speak out against Trump through his racist attacks.

Even though she was getting ready to take the stage with her husband Migos rapper Offset at Jimmy Kimmel Live in California, Cardi entered the group chat by posting a photo of Omar to her Instagram with the following caption hailed from the Queen Bey herself.

“You know you that bitchh when you cause all this conversation,” she wrote.

Cardi has previously voiced her opinion on political matters, ranging from the shooting deaths of Black men and women, the 2016 presidential election and the atrocities at the Southern border.

Wednesday night’s antics follow days of bullying and prodding by Trump who began a firestorm when he tweeted that Omar, along with four other minority freshman congresswomen dubbed “The Squad”, should “go back to their countries.” Omar is a Muslim and a Somali-born American citizen, who immigrated to the United States when she was 10 years old. The other three legislators in “The Squad” are all American citizens as well.

On Thursday morning Trump told reporters that he was “not happy” with what transpired on Wednesday night, but he is also the main puppeteer who continues to stoke the flames of hatred with his divisive rhetoric.
