Mendeecees Harris Reportedly Coming Home Next Year
When it comes to incarcerated celebrities, they’re always about to come home. But that might actually be the truth for “Love and Hip Hop New York” alum Mendeecees Harris.
According to Bossip, Harris is set to be released next year after being sentenced to eight years for trafficking drugs.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons reports that Harris is set to be released on November 2020. In 2015, he was sentenced to eight to ten years in a federal prison. Being released in November will mean he would have served a little over half of the original sentence.
In a plea deal, Harris admitted that for two years, from 2006-2008 he helped transport hard drugs (cocaine and heroin) from New York City to the Rochester, NY area.
After his sentence was handed down, Harris appealed but the original sentence stood. By that time, Mendeecees had already served 15 months before he was granted bail. With that additional year, he’s been in prison for five years.
While he’s been away, court papers state that Mendeecees has completed substance abuse prevention program. He’s taken classes on how to parent from prison, courses in money management , health and nutrition and public speaking.
Hopefully, he’ll be able to use all that for the betterment and uplift of his family when he comes home.
