R. Kelly is behind bars again thanks to his employees. It has been reported that people that have worked with Kelly over the past two decades submitted tapes of him engaging in illegal sexual acts with underage girls.
The family attorney for one of Kelly’s girlfriends Jocelyn Savage Gerald Griggs revealed that Kelly’s workers played a major role in his latest arrest. Griggs told TMZ that Kelly’s former and current employees submitted over 20 videotapes of Kelly with underaged girls.
Kelly was arrested Thursday (July 11) after being indicted by a grand jury on 13 counts of child pornography, including four counts of producing child pornography and two counts of receiving child pornography. He is also facing a five-count federal indictment from the Eastern District of New York. These charges include racketeering and four violations of the Mann Act, which prohibits the interstate or foreign transport of women for sexual purposes.
Since the airing of the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R. Kelly, the disgraced R&B veteran’s life has been in shambles. Besides being investigated in multiple states and being charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse earlier this year, he was also jailed for owing his ex-wife Drea Kelly child support. He denied the sexual abuse accusations and the allegations that he holds women against their will in an explosive interview with CBS reporter Gayle King. He said he had struggled to pay child support due to falling on hard times and being involved in bad business deals in the past.
