BLK + GRN Founder Dr. Kristian Henderson In A Coma, Family Seeking Breast Milk Donations
Last year, we interviewed BLK + GRN founder Dr. Kristian Henderson. We spoke to her about her Black owned holistic shop that stocked ethically sourced and toxic-free products made by Black people. Since then, Dr. Henderson gave birth to a boy. Sadly, Dr. Henderson and her son are need of help from her community.
Earlier this week, the Twitter account Health In Her Hue shared that Dr. Henderson was involved in a severe car accident which resulted in her being in a coma. In addition to the sincere prayers, her family and friends are also asking nursing mothers to donate breast milk for Henderson’s three-month-old son.
Another Twitter user who goes by the name @herholisticpath created a Google Document to help accept submissions. For those who are unable to provide breast milk, there is also a PayPal link to send monetary donations.
Also, purchases made through the online store, BLKGRN.com will go toward supporting the family.
The Google doc asks donors how many ounces they’d be able to donate, if the women have any health conditions that would affect the breastmilk, and the race of the donor—though no one is being excluded based on race, the family would like to know for personal reasons.
There is also a time schedule about what close friends of Kristian can pick up the milk.
Henderson’s mother, supported the donation efforts and the request for prayers for both Henderson and her grandson.
If you’re interested in donating or know someone who can, you can fill out the application to do so, here.
