LUXE FOR LESS: You Can Have Beyoncé’s African Print Dress For Under $150.00
Swizz Beatz and Mashonda’s son, Kasseem Dean Jr. had the birthday guest of a lifetime: Beyoncé. The 12-year-old celebrated his special day and got to take a snap with Queen Bey herself!
We’d be smiling super hard too!
We loved this dress that Beyoncé was wearing and discovered it’s from Sisters of Afrika. The brand is a ready to wear company with clothing straight from the Motherland. Bey was styled by celebrity stylist Zerina Akers and I loved that she gave us an affordable option that we can buy too!
Beyoncé is wearing the Flora dress ($142.43, sistersofafrika.fr) and it goes up to a size XXXL. This is the equivalent to a US size 14. I would say a small size 16 could fit this dress because it seems a little more roomy. The dress is orange and green with a thigh high side slit. I love the balloon sleeves for a more prominent sleeve. This is a great dress for a Summer evening out.
Beyoncé wore her hair in a half bun with loose curls. She was wearing minimal makeup and looked so young!
I stan when celebs wear affordable clothing. $145.00 for a dress isn’t bad at all. I appreciate stylists like Akers who can dress women in designer but also champions Black owned brands, smaller brands, and affordable clothing.
Sisters of Afrika was started by Héléne Daba in 2013. Via the website, she shares, “When I was looking for a name for the brand, Sisters Of Afrika sounded obvious, I wanted to create a brand that looks like me and would speak to each of my sisters, girls with different styles and desires.”
