Nia Guzman Denies That Chris Brown Owes Child Support
Nia Guzman, the mother of Chris Brown’s daughter Royalty, denies recent claims that she went back to court claiming Brown was not paying child support.
“Not true! All is great on our end!” Guzman told Page Six. “Please stop with the Chris Brown bashing.”
Guzman confirmed that things are amicable between her and that she is annoyed with the stories about Breezy. She also added that he doesn’t owe one dime in child support.
“It’s just sad that negative things hurry and try and get published! We are just tired of it. He does pay and is not behind what so ever.”
According to The Blast, court documents stated that the “No Guidance” singer “has ignored deposition notices, offered to participate in mediation in a court hearing then failed to even respond to potential mediation dates when proposed, and ignored settlement offers altogether.” Guzman was reportedly seeking $258,285.24 in back child support, but she now denies this.
One of Brown’s reps also confirmed that he and Guzman are on good terms.
“Chris has been taking care of his child and he and his daughter’s mother have no issues,” his rep also told Page Six.
Before they waved the white flag, Guzman and Brown were engaged in a long court battle over child support. After a judge ruled that Brown would pay $2,500 a month in child support and $4,000 a month for a nanny, Guzman reportedly filed documents stating that she was entitled to $21,000 a month due to his income. Royalty’s expenses included $3,300 in rent, $3,500 in food and $4,500 in clothes and entertainment according to Guzman.
