It’s Forgiveness Day and I think forgiveness is one of the most beautiful qualities. If you know anyone with a chip on her shoulder—someone who seems like she just can’t be happy, no matter—she probably has someone she hasn’t forgiven. The funny thing about holding a grudge is that, we think by doing so, we’re getting some sort of revenge. We think we are affecting the person we won’t forgive in some way. The reality is that, that person probably just went onto live her life. I like to think that people learn and grow. But, you can’t always count on it. Sometimes, somebody will wrong you, and you have to forgive her even if she doesn’t change. You have to forgive someone even if she doesn’t apologize. You forgive for yourself, because holding onto anger is bad for you. But, just know that forgiving someone doesn’t mean saying what she did is okay. It just means you’re releasing your anger over that event. You should still remember what happened, as a way of protecting yourself and learning.
Forgive: Cheating, so you can move on
Though it can be very hard (so, so hard), forgive the man who cheats on you. Don’t hold onto the anger. If you do, it’ll peek out in your future relationships. You’ll become cold and callous towards men, meaning the man who cheated on you hurt you in even more ways—he damaged your future relationships.
