At this point, what hasn’t Tyra Banks achieved? The supermodel, TV host, actress, and businesswoman is putting her executive producer talents on display with Quibi’s docuseries, ‘Beauty’. Quibi, otherwise known as Quick Bites, is a new, short-form movie and TV app that will launch in 2020.
The series is hyper-focused on celebrating beauty and the different aspects of what that can look like for other people. In addition to serving as an executive producer, she will star in the docuseries. Tyra has always been an advocate for embracing your natural traits, and finding the beauty in your flaws. This series will provide her with another platform that speaks to self-acceptance and redefining how we feel about ourselves.
“As I look into the future, I see radical changes in both how people ‘attain beauty,’ and how the world perceives beauty,” Banks said in a statement. “Our docuseries aims to expand and redefine the definition of beauty as we know it, challenging why we accept certain beauty parameters and reject others, and examining the beliefs behind those judgments.”
Banks used her celebrity to create, and host America’s Next Top Model, a TV show that provided a platform for aspiring models. The show has launched successful careers for some of our favorite women today. Now in it’s 24th season, the show now has been repurposed in over 100 geographical locations such as Germany’s Next Top Model, India’s Next Top Model, and Britain’s Next Top Model.
Banks’ commitment to breaking barriers in the beauty industry have not gone unnoticed. Not only has she used her show to open doors for women over the standard modeling age, women under the standard height, and transgender women, she’s been an advocate for body positivity. Banks’ has an extensive resume when it comes to uplifting other women. There is not doubt this docuseries will do the same.
